The Gem Institute of the United States (GIA) recently evaluated a 4.04 carat ring made entirely of a single laboratory grown diamond.
This ring is jointly produced by Dutch Diamond Technologies and Belgian jewelry store Heursel.
It is cut from 8.54 carat laboratory made diamond slabs grown through chemical vapor deposition (CVD).
GIA stated that the ring has a thickness of 3.03 millimeters, an inner diameter of 16.35 to 16.4 millimeters, and an outer diameter of 20.32 to 20.4 millimeters.
Although this is not the first reported 'ring' of this kind, it is the first time GIA has evaluated a ring carved from a single laboratory made diamond, "added Tom Moses, executive vice president and chief appraiser and researcher at GIA.
